Abby Doll

Abby Doll is codirector of the RAND Center for Gaming and a policy analyst at the RAND Corporation, where she focuses on military capabilities assessment and military strategy. In particular, she focuses on competition, multi-domain operations, and logistics and deployment challenges for future conflict scenarios. She also develops and executes expert-adjudicated wargames exploring new operational concepts. Doll is currently serving as RAND’s liaison to U.S. Army Pacific.

Prior to coming to RAND, Doll worked in the International Programs Office at Sandia National Laboratories on nuclear security, safety, and safeguards. She holds an M.A. in international affairs, with concentrations in intelligence and military policy, from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and a B.A. in political science and a minor in mathematics from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Doll is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in war studies from King’s College in London, where she is studying the motivations driving the Return of Forces to Germany (REFORGER) exercises during the Cold War.
