Lacey Beaty was elected Beaverton’s Mayor in 2020. Prior to serving as Mayor, she served for six years on Beaverton City Council. Before joining the City Council, she was an active volunteer for the city’s Visioning Advisory Committee, serving as vice-chair. She is the youngest ever elected official in Beaverton’s history.

Mayor Beaty believes in robust community engagement coupled with intentional collaboration across City Council, City Staff, and community members. Under her leadership on City Council, Beaverton adopted a Black and Brown Lives Matter Resolution, a Sanctuary City Resolution, and the inclusion of Service-Disabled Veteran business language added to the City’s Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business Policy.

As the City begins the transition to a City Manager form of government, Mayor Beaty is looking forward to the emerging opportunities to rethink, restructure and renew the City’s commitment to excellent public service, transparent communication, equitable policies, and collaborative practices.

She is active in the community including serving on the HomePlate Youth Services Board of Directors. Mayor Beaty served five years of active duty in the U.S. Army as a radiology specialist and combat medic. She served in the 1st Infantry Division during the Iraq War. Councilor Beaty has shared that her military background is the relentless driving force that keeps her moving forward every day.

Mayor Beaty is married and her husband, Ian, is a full-time officer in the Oregon Army National Guard, also working full time in Clackamas. They have a daughter, Aella, who has been a frequent attendee at City Council events and meetings. Mayor Beaty has an undergraduate degree in political science from Oregon State University and a graduate degree in management and organizational leadership from Warner Pacific University.
